The time on My Solaris 10 server has drifted off by nearly 10 minutes. I thought there ought to be an automatic way to synchronize the time with the atomic clock on the Internet. The following may work if your server is behind a firewall (not proxy server) that has access to the Internet. Thanks to time.mit.edu who provides the real time clock.<\/p>\n

Login as root
\nrun “crontab -e”
\nadd the following lines:<\/p>\n

# sync up server time every day 4am
\n0 4 * * * rdate time.mit.edu<\/p>\n
